➡️ Heather root: what you need to know

Heathers represent over 800 species of plants in the Ericaceae family. Our dog chews are made in Italy from the tuberous root of heathers, a pinkish to reddish wood.

This is the strain used: we call it "heather root." The best known is Erica Arborea, due to its size. Heather root is a 100% natural, artisanal, and, above all, ecological chew treat for dogs, as its harvest is authorized only by the competent organizations responsible for forest management.

Boiling for four hours reduces the tannins naturally present in the root, which is then air-dried and then trimmed and sanded by local artisans. These products have limited availability due to responsible harvesting.

➡️ Untreated and natural

Heather wood is untreated and contains no artificial additives or preservatives. It is environmentally friendly, natural, and splinter-resistant. It is therefore extremely durable and suitable for strong jaws that need stimulation. Heather roots are also rich in nutrients and low in fat.

➡️ Long life and economical

Due to their size, they are fantastic value for money. Don't drop them on your foot, these toys are heavier than they look!

The expected lifespan is 3 months minimum for dogs who like to chew non-stop, but we have dogs who have had them for years.

As with all consumable chews, please supervise your pet carefully when giving this heather root chew.
