Freeze-drying processing of healthy pet treats is done under very high vacuum and extremely low temperature under dry processing conditions. An initial drying phase, called primary drying, removes water (and ice) by sublimation. In the second phase, secondary drying, it is removed by desorption, which effectively preserves the color, aroma, taste and shape of fresh food, while preserving the nutrients and vitamins of the product. These treats have a longer shelf life than fresh pears, meaning you can store them in the cupboard and come back to them again and again. |
