The freeze-drying of healthy pet treats is carried out under vacuum at a very high degree and at an extremely low temperature under dry processing conditions. An initial drying phase, called primary drying, removes water (and ice) through sublimation. During the second phase, secondary drying, it is removed by desorption. This process effectively preserves the color, aroma, taste, and shape of fresh foods, while also retaining the product's nutrients and vitamins. |
