Best before and best before, we tell you everything ⤵️

You can find in our shop kibble 🐶 with a short BBD for example, but also pâté, shampoo, treats, etc. We offer and group these different types of products with a short or exceeded BBD in the “ Anti-waste ” category of our shop.

The DLC ✖️

The DLC corresponds to the date after which the product concerned becomes dangerous to health and must therefore be destroyed once this date is reached . It is indicated on perishable and packaged food products bearing the words "Use by..." , the date beyond which the product actually becomes unfit for consumption.

➔ Any sale of a product beyond its use-by date, therefore considered " expired ", is strictly prohibited. This practice is punishable by law .

With the best before date: low prices and zero danger!

With the Best Before Date (BBD), there's no danger for your faithful, beloved pooch. Why?

This is simply an indicative date, after which the product loses its taste or nutritional qualities (reduction in vitamin content for example) but is absolutely not dangerous for health .

To compensate for this reduction in freshness, we are therefore significantly reducing the price of the products concerned, which are still perfectly edible.

Best before end and best before end: what’s the difference?

Since 2015, the DLUO (Best Before End) mention has gradually given way (with the same characteristics) to the DDM (Minimum Durability Date). This will now be preceded by the mention:

👉 “Best before…” when the date includes the day, or by the words

👉 “Use by end…” in other cases.

➔ To be very precise, it is enough to remember that :

➡️ If the product's shelf life is less than 3 months, indicating the day and month is sufficient.

➡️ If the product's durability is between 3 and 18 months, indicating the month and year is sufficient.

➡️ If the product's durability is greater than 18 months, the manufacturer may simply indicate the year.

Furthermore, some of our products may be offered for sale with an exceeded DLUO/DDM (mentioned on the product sheet, just below the price). This does not constitute an infringement of the law, in these cases we guarantee you ultra low prices (up to -75% discount) and food that is still consumable by your Love Pooch 🐶 of course.

Finally, we are continuing our policy of lowering prices in the case of the DDM as we do for the DLUO!
